Background on Our Name

Our personal roots are in the Southwest (Arizona and New Mexico) where adobe is commonplace. This is one of the sources of "adobe" as a name for this company. Secondly, adobe is the most basic creation for a building material beyond using the earth itself. As a compound, it blends the raw earth with other natural elements and creates something which is exceptionally useful, versatile, aesthetic, and durable. We like the connotations of all of these qualities.The other word, "creations," is an allusion to Alfred North Whitehead's Process Philosophy, where creativity is understood to be the ultimate characteristic of the universe. It is the one theme which characterizes all of reality and is therefore fundamental to the nature of the Cosmos itself.
